The body is made from beech wood and stained yellow and the neck is made from European oak. Both body and neck have a stunning shiny finish. Its soundboard is made from spruce wood and it has one oval shaped sound hole with a beautiful mother of pearl design around edge. There is also a wooden pick guard at bottom to help prevent scratching sound board. The decorations can vary from those photographed. This item includes a nylon gig bag, owner's guide and pick. There are multiple tuning options for instrument, but we recommend using the Arabic method: DGADGC. This oud has a range of more than 3 octaves.
The oud is the main instrument of Arabic music and is popular throughout the Middle East. It means "piece of wood" in Arabic.
